3D Implant Planning
3D Implant Planning
Conventional (two-dimensional) X-ray diagnostics are often not sufficient to plan implant treatment with certainty. For example, when there is little jawbone or a nerve runs near the roots of the tooth.
In these initial situations, there is the possibility of planning the implantation in advance on the computer screen – including the exact position and size of the implants.
The decisive factor: 3D planning offers you more security.
The advantages of 3D implant planning:
A more precise assessment and thus more comprehensive protection of sensitive areas of the jaw (e.g. nerve tracts) are possible.
Any bone augmentation that may be required can be avoided under certain circumstances, since the existing bone is better utilized.
The appearance and the exact alignment of the denture (e.g. a crown) can often be determined before the procedure – this procedure, which is based on the desired result, has advantages for dental aesthetics.
This is how 3D planning works:
1. Individual layered images of your jaw are created using modern three-dimensional X-ray technology.
2. These individual images are assembled into a complete image by a computer program. Your jaw is then available on the monitor as a three-dimensional image. We can rotate it, view it from all sides and enlarge it as we like.
3. The insertion of the artificial tooth roots is carried out “virtually” on the monitor before the actual implantation and taking into account the optimal position.
